Assassin's Creed Reveals Surprising AoT Event for Thanksgiving
In a unexpected crossover event that challenges conventional expectations, Ubisoft has revealed an virtual crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, including no-cost extra story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Mission Revealed
According to the formal release, "An unusual encounter pulls protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a original adventure, where whispers of banned rituals and terrifying metamorphoses echo through the shadows." The narrative features a "oddly attired woman named Ada" who assigns the duo with journeying into the Crystal Cave—a important location from Attack on Titan—to save her ally from a hidden cult.
The mission focuses on "bizarre trials and a fearsome foe" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Iconic Locations and Metamorphoses
The trailer features the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was earlier where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The trailer ends with a powerful scene showing a character, presumably the hostage, transforming into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Items and Bonus Content
Players who accomplish the mission will acquire an exclusive katana alongside several artifacts hidden throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-inspired outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Exclusive implements
- Survey Corps vehicle
Newest Free Story Update
This update also adds the game's third free story addition, titled "The Mystery." This humorous quest partners Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange signature skills: Naoe debuts a theatrical interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-fatal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Enigma" also contains a new environmental puzzle that may eventually shed light on some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
